- FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE -
RDG Planning & Design of Des Moines will hold a series of three meetings to develop a final design for the Creston Skatepark. The first meeting will be held
Tuesday, January 17th at 6:30 p.m.
in the Mealsite at the
Creston Restored Depot
and will incorporate community input, vision and programming.
RDG will facilitate the meeting/workshop with Stakeholders to better understand potential site related issues and to discuss community needs and requirements for the proposed Skate Park. Stakeholders may include and are not limited to City staff, Park board, the Skate Park design committee, various user groups, and adjacent property owners. RDG will provide the Stakeholders with a comprehensive insight on current Skate Park trends.
RDG will use input received at the initial meeting to develop three different preliminary design concepts. The concepts will be reviewed at a second meeting in February to obtain a consensus for plan refinement. A final design plan will then be developed and presented to the community at a final, public meeting in March. At that time, final approval will be given to proceed with construction documentation and bidding of the project.
The site for the Creston Skatepark has been established within McKinley Park, in the area between the outdoor swimming pool and playground.
