• HIGHWAY 34 CONSTRUCTION UPDATE, October 18, 2007.

In preparation for paving on Friday, October 19 and Saturday, October 20,  the contractor will be closing Sumner Street (Hyw 25) at Sheldon Street around noon today - October 18.

South-bound traffic will need to go West on Sheldon to Laurel, South on Laurel then back to US 34. East bound Hyw 25 traffic will do the reverse movement.

Paving on Friday will begin at the West end of the East section as was done during the South half of the paving.  The contractor will close US 34 for a few blocks as the paving train moves to the East.  The Temporary Detour will be utilized during the paving days.  Weather dependant 4 to 5 days on the mainline, then the side roads and entrances will be paved, construction will progress similar to what was done in the first stage.
