Highway 34 Construction Updates

• Hwy 34 Public Information Meeting,

An information meeting on the Highway 34 construction project in Creston city limits will be held 6 p.m. today in the congregate meal site at the restored Creston Depot.

Iowa Department of Transportation, city and contractor representatives will be present to discuss staging of the work and answer questions.

The project is scheduled to begin April 2 and is estimated to take 140 days to complete. Two 11-feet lanes of traffic on U.S. 34 will be maintained during the project, but short-term detours will be needed for utility connections during staged construction work.

The prime contractor for the $6.5 million project is Cedar Valley Corporation of Waterloo. The Creston resident construction engineer's office is in charge of this project.
