• HIGHWAY 34 CONSTRUCTION UPDATE, Aug. 2, 2007
Starting Thursday night, Aug. 2 at 4:00 p.m. Sumner St and HWY 34 will be closed to the South until Saturday afternoon. This will be for the contractor to finish subdrain work and trimming the base in preparation of the paving starting at 7:00 a.m. on Friday morning in front of the Family Restaurant.
During paving operations, portions of HWY 34 will be closed to through traffic. This will be a moving closure closing the two consecutive blocks as the paving train moves from West to East. The temporary detour will be in effect until paving operations cease on Friday night.
While closing the HWY 34 and Sumner intersection (until the paving train has gone through), Southbound HWY 25 traffic looking to head West will be routed West on Sheldon, South on Laurel, then back West on 34. HWY 34/25 traffic looking to go East will be routed to Laurel, then Sheldon, then East on New York Ave. to Fremont St. then back to HWY 34.
This paving and the temporary detour will also continue through next week.
